“I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free.” — Michelangelo
TÉCHIN draws sophisticated urban fashion from exceptional materials, harmonizing his instinctively elegant designs to the natural characteristics of each fabric and the contours of the human form.
Recognizable at a distance, TÉCHIN’s distinctive silhouette projects razor sharp lines and a uniquely straight drape that belies the fluidity and mobility of each garment. Refinement with a relaxed air.
History
Founded in Manhattan’s West Village in 2014, TECHIN developed a complete collection of luxury casual menswear before launching the first public collection in Fall/Winter 2017. At the core of the 2017 collection, the TÉCHIN “Woven Tee” merged cashmere woven suiting and custom knit rib panels into a garment as sophisticated as a bespoke suit with the ease of a comfortable T-shirt. The Woven Tee’s patented design required two years to perfect, melding the worlds of fashion and technical product design to achieve a garment that is thoroughly effortless but radically sharp and completely unique. The original Woven Tee with its fabulous drape and couture construction techniques is the inspiration for all the collections that have followed.
TÉCHIN’s flagship gallery store at 123 Greenwich Avenue attracts New York’s creative elite, including architects, actors, musicians, artists, gallerists and creative executives in addition to a range of professionals with an artistic sensibility and respect for compelling design and uncompromising quality.
In TÉCHIN’s atelier at 225 West 36th Street in Manhattan’s garment district every TÉCHIN garment is born, before being crafted by skilled artisans in Manhattan – or in Veneto (for knitwear) and Puglia (for footwear) – and then returning to the atelier to be completed with TÉCHIN’s signature handcrafted details.
